In 2007 SportBizz successfully matched global player Ricoh to the Dutch National Golf Association (NGF). At that time NGF was looking for a new title sponsor for one of the oldest and most beautiful tournaments in Holland: The National Open. The National Open has a 80 year history and can best be described as the non-official Dutch Championship. The best pro's and amateurs play in one tournament and battle over the title.
This pearl in the crown tournament deserved a matching sponsor. SportBizz was able to find a terrific match in only a few weeks. Ricoh or at that time still branded as Nashuatec is one of Hollands oldest and most professional sponsors. The moment parties signed the sponsorship agreement Nashuatec was rebranded as Ricoh. The golf community in the Netherlands is a very important target group for Ricoh and by signing a 3-year title sponsorship agreement with NGF they have created the awareness they needed. Together with NGF and Ricoh SportBizz analysed the possibilities for both parties to transform their sponsorship into a real partnership at the same time restoring the old glamour of this one of a kind tournament.
A beautiful example of a win-win-win situation.
